At Thornton Dale Primary School, we pride ourselves on a whole school approach to promoting the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical developments of our pupils. Recent studies show that education and health are closely linked. So promoting the health and wellbeing of all pupils within school, has the potential to improve their educational outcomes, along with preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
We pride ourselves on being able to offer a range of opportunities for our children, which not only promote their spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical developments, but also ready our children for experiences in later life. Below is our current opportunities pledge, which we update annually.
We achieved the gold Healthy Schools award for our delivery of high quality PSHE and PE to support the wellbeing and health of all our pupils and staff - December 2024.
